Frank Wildhorn had visited BYU to perform and teach master classes to students, and was so impressed with the level of talent shown that he asked if BYU would like to present the US premiere of the musical. premiere was performed at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, United States. The production later returned in 20, with minor changes in the plot and songs.
